We’re hiring a Campaign Coordinator!

Role Description: Campaign Coordinator for Maine Youth Justice, a youth-led campaign organizing to close Long Creek and end youth incarceration in Maine. This dynamic position will be responsible for supporting the Youth Steering Committee, leading the Outreach/Base-Building team, and administrative support. This position will work collaboratively with the Campaign Manager and Advocacy Director. 

Responsibilities:

Organizing and outreach: This position will be the staff coordinator for the campaign’s Youth Steering Committee. MYJ’s Youth Steering Committee is the leadership and backbone of the campaign and consists of 18 directly impacted young people across Maine between the ages of 14-25. In addition, this will be responsible for collaborating with youth organizers to lead the MYJ Outreach/Base-Building team.

Administrative support: This position will work closely with the Campaign Manager to assist in grant management and expense tracking of the campaign. This includes coordinating timesheets, tracking time on specific projects, and overseeing donor acknowledgements. 

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate for this position has a deep commitment to building youth leadership, racial justice, strong written and oral communication skills, and the ability to work well independently as well as with partners, volunteers, and colleagues.  This role requires clear communication and accountability to commitments. 

We are looking for someone who is dependable, well organized, able to multitask, meet deadlines, and adapt to the changing priorities of the campaign. The ideal candidate would agree to the Maine Youth Justice Statement of Principles. 

Compensation Salary is $44,100. Benefits include generous paid time off (30 days), 10 paid holidays, individual employer-provided health insurance, long-term disability insurance, and a defined contribution retirement plan with employer match. This is a full-time, exempt, temporary position. This position is remote and location is flexible within Maine.
